Griffin Gazette

June 2025

As this school year comes to a close, I want to let you know that I won’t be returning to West Hills next year. Even though I was only here for one year, it’s been a truly special experience to be part of this community. I’ve loved getting to know your amazing kids and working alongside such a dedicated team. While it’s hard to say goodbye, I know West Hills will continue to thrive with Kimberly Powell continuing to serve as your Principal. She cares deeply about your kids and this school, and I can’t imagine a better person to lead the way. Thank you for the warm welcome and support this year—it’s meant so much.

Warm regards,
Principal Potis

Our New Vision

Thank you for sharing your voice—our new West Hills vision is the result of true collaboration. We reached consensus across all stakeholder groups, with input from 16 local businesses, hundreds of families, every staff member, and each one of our amazing students. This vision reflects our shared hopes for what West Hills will be. Without further ado…

Vision: West Hills STEM Academy empowers students to thrive through innovative learning, resilience, and self-advocacy. By building strong connections in a safe and equitable environment, we prepare ALL students to achieve at high levels and face future challenges with confidence.

Field Day Note

We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming West Hills Family Picnic! It's a wonderful opportunity to connect and enjoy some quality time together.

** Please note that siblings from other Bremerton schools are not able to join us, as those students are expected to be at their own school on Tuesday. **

HomeLink families and siblings are encouraged to attend, as we want to celebrate as a whole community!

Title 1 Survey INFORMATION

Title I Parent & Family Feedback Survey

We value your voice!

Our District receives funding through Title I, Part A, a federal program that provides extra support to help students succeed in school. This program helps us offer additional instruction and resources so all students can meet challenging state academic standards and close learning gaps.

Here’s how we currently support students through Title I:

  • Small group instruction and interventions

  • Targeted, specialized teaching

  • Ongoing progress monitoring

  • Teacher-student conferences focused on academic goals

  • Activities that engage parents and families

As we begin planning for next school year, we want your input. Your feedback helps us ensure our Title I program meets the needs of your student and your family in meaningful ways.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share your thoughts.

Thank you for being a valued partner in your child’s education!
